The gaze:  Preview of Orlando workshop​




We teach that the gaze of the ethnographer, the participating client team, and the consumers under observation will determine the relative power, specificity, actual findings, and analysis of the research results. We'll be speaking on this exciting subject in Orlando in October 2015 at the Qualitative Research Consultants Association at the Hilton Bonadventure.


For now, here's a teaser illustration about the power of the gaze.


Always keeping the nature of the gaze in mind, we design our ethnographic and qualitative studies to use a hybrid form of techniques and processes including online digital ethnography, creative focus groups, and the crown jewel, which is live in-situ authentic ethnographic observation. See below as an illustration of one of the design formats.
